The ferry runs year-round from DeTour Village. Fares are collected when traveling to the island, and passengers ride free in a vehicle.

Driving from the Lower Peninsula? Cross the Straits, then continue north toward DeTour Village for the ferry to Drummond Island.

PLNPellston Regional AirportIf you don't fly into CIU this is another close option, it's about a 2 hour drive from the airport to the ferry dock.
CIUChippewa County InternationalThis is the closest you will get! This airport is about a 45 minute drive to the ferry dock.
TVCCherry Capital AirportTraverse City arrival ideal for making a longer northern Michigan trip. This is about a 4 hour drive to the island, the views on the west side of the state are gorgeous!
YAMSault Ste. Marie AirportOntario option; passport required for the border crossing. This is the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario airport, for some it may be easier to fly AirCanada and cross the boarder into Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. From there it is an hour drive to the island.
DTWDetroit Metropolitan AirportBest choice for the widest selection of flights and rental cars. It is about a 5 hour drive to the island.

What is the dress code?+
We invite you to wear summer formal attire, elevated, celebratory, and ready for a night of dancing. The ceremony is in a church, and the reception will be by the water, so we recommend layers and comfortable shoes.
Should I bring a car?+
Yes, we recommend bringing a car. Drummond Island is best explored on your own schedule, and you’ll need to take the ferry from DeTour Village to reach the island. There are no Ubers on the island!
What do I need to know about the ferry?+
The Drummond Island Ferry runs year round. Please check the schedule before traveling and allow extra time during busy summer periods or changing weather. The Drummond Island Ferry is a car ferry, town is about 10 miles from the dock, please plan accordingly!
Where should I stay?+
Visit our Places To Stay section for cabin rentals, hotel options, and vacation-rental links. We recommend booking early for a July weekend.
Are children invited?+
We love your little ones; however, our celebration will be adults only unless a family is specifically named on your invitation.
What happens if it rains?+
We are celebrating rain or shine! Please check the forecast before you travel and bring a layer for an island evening. The ceremony will be indoors, and the reception venue is indoor/outdoor if necessary we will move cocktail hour inside.
When should I RSVP?+
Please respond by the date printed on your invitation so we can finalize our celebration. Invitations will be sent out this spring.
